Fine batting by Dean Stephens and Ian Armstrong enabled Devonshire Rec. to continue their pursuit of the First Division title with this comfortable eight-wicket victory over Police at Police field.
Stephens stroked a game-high 77 not out while team-mate Armstrong contributed 51 not out to spearhead the visitors in their fight back after the home side Police had posted a respectable totalThe best bowler for Police was Steven Diamond with one for 11 off four overs.
Earlier Lamont Brangman kept the Police batsmen in check with figures of three for 40 off his ten overs.Veteran Andrew Rollins topped Police batting with a brisk 61 with Garvin Aparico also in good form with 31.
Willow cuts 114; Bailey’s Bay 115-2>
At Somerset CC the other team challenging Devonshire Rec. for the leadership, Willow Cuts, had a setback when they went down to visiting Bailey’s Bay by eight wickets in a contest reduced to 39 overs.
John Martin was the only batsman for Cuts in any sort of form as he lead the way with 46. Reid Trott did the bowling damage for the visitors finishing with four for 31 off six overs.

PHC coasted to a nine-wicket triumph over Warwick at White Hill in a 35-overs game with Sheridan (Baldy) Ming leading their batting with a high of 58 runs. Orlando Taylor was the best bowler for Warwick with one for seven off 2.3 overs.
Kion Butterfield had one of his best scoring efforts of the season with a knock of 66 but it still wasn’t sufficient to lead his team to a more challening total

Leg Trappers scored a ten-wicket victory over Somerset Bridge at Sea Breeze Oval in a 30 overs game with John Woolnough topping their batting with an undefeated 68.
