Bermuda’s junior golfers are again getting chance to play the best courses on the Island after signing up for the fourth annual summer tour, sponsored by the Ross (Blackie) Talbot Foundation.

Senior professional Eardley Jones is again organising the the tour which sees nine-hole evening tournaments, starting at 4.30 p.m., taking place throughout the summer at Mid Ocean Club, Tucker’s Point, Riddell’s Bay and Belmont Hills.

The best eight of 12 scores will determine the overall winners in four age groups — 15 to 17 (blue tees), 13 to 14 (white tees), 12 and under (red tees) and novices (on a shortened course).

Currently two girls are in the field while visiting overseas juniors are also being encouraged to take part.

Weekly gift certificates are presented to the first and second place finishers in each age group with additional prizes for the longest drive and closest to the pin.

Points are also awarded each week — 100 for first place, 90 for second, 80 for third, down to 10 for tenth place in each age group. The top four points winners in the 15 and over group will be eligible to travel to an overseas tournament in the mid-term school break later in the year.
