Maybury leads the way as youngsters are victorious

Carriacou Schools 65; Bermuda Under-19s 66 for two <$t2>Teenage bowling sensation Greg Maybury recorded an impressive five-wicket haul to lead Bermuda’s Under-19 national cricket squad to a convincing eight-wicket victory over Carriacou Schools in Bridgefield, Barbados yesterday.

Just three days after being named in Bermuda’s ICC Intercontinental Cup squad that will tour Denmark, Holland and Ireland next month, Maybury showed exactly why he comes highly rated.

The Somerset all-rounder was virtually unplayable during a spell that yielded five for 16 off eight overs with one maiden to cap off a memorable debut playing for the Under-19s in a match reduced to 25 overs-per-side due to morning showers.

In reply, Bermuda overcame the lost of two early wickets with early order bats Chris Douglas and Terryn Fray leading the way with responsible knocks.

Douglas stroked 21 and Fray an unbeaten 23 as Bermuda’s youngsters cruised to an easy win against their Caribbean counterparts.
