Breaking News: Namibia 100-3

6.29am: Wicket. Outerbridge more than makes up for that wide by getting the crucial wicket of Namibia skipper Craig Williams. Williams miss-times a hook shot and is caught on the boundary by Justin Pitcher.

6.28am: Hundred up. Namibia reach 100-2 after Stephen Outerbridge sends down his third wide ball in two overs. It’s taken just 19.1 overs for Namibia to reach three figures, the home side are rattling along at more than five an over.

6.12am: Wicket. Justin Pitcher makes the breakthrough, getting van Schoor to hook a short ball down the throat of Stefan Kelly at deep backward square. Van Schoor goes for 39 and Namibia are 81-2.

6.02am: Apart from a couple of half chances, where Burger and van Schoor have guided the ball just out of reach of Bermuda’s fielders, neither batsmen looks unduly trouble by the Bermuda attack. 15 overs gone and Namibia are 71-1.

5.38am: Namibia 53-1. The home side have recovered from the early loss of Rudolph and van Shoor (33*) and Sarel Burger (14*) are fairly chugging along. It’s taken them just 8.4 overs to bring up the firfty, and van Schoor is looking in fine form.

He crashed Malachi Jones for a straight six from a full length delivery, and brought up the fifty with a glorious cover drive for four.

5.08am: Wicket. Disaster for Namibia. Openers Raymond van Schoor and Gerhard Rudolph get their wires crossed on a quick single and Rudolph is left stranded in the middle of the pitch and is run out by Pitcher. Namibia 11-1

4.58am: Namibia 10-0. Jones opens the bolwing for Bermuda, and there is enough to keep him interested as the first three balls of the over are edged through the slips by Gerhard Rudolph. Jones is getting plenty of bounce.

4.30am: Bermuda have won the toss and will field in the first of two one day matches against Namibia at United Cricket Ground, Windhoek.

The home side have made several changes to the team that was so successful in the Intercontinental Shield match. Pace bowler Louis Klazinga, who took five wickets in the second innings is left out in favour of Pieter Groenewald, while spinner Toby Verwey, who took five wickets in the first innings also steps aside.

For Bermuda, Shannon Rayner makes his first senior start for his country, while Justin Pitcher is also included after coming through a late fitness test yesterday.
