Breaking News: Update - Namibia v Bermuda, Day One -

11.15am: Wicket. Ryan Steede b Verwey 3. Different coach, different year, same old Bermuda. Ryan Steede throws his wicket away by taking an almighty sweep at a fuller ball from Verwey and gets himself bowled. All the St George's bowler had to do was stick with Irving Romaine, who is unbeaten on 34. From looking at a total close tO 300, Bermuda will now be lucky to get 250. 203-8.

11.03am: Wicket. Rodney Trott c Klazinga b Verwey 6. Not exactly what the Bermuda coaches will have had in mind when they talked about making the most of the final session. After watching Jones and Edness get out cheaply, Trott then throws his wicket away with a needless swipe at a Verwey delivery that only goes as far as Klazinga who takes the gentliest of catches at mid-on. 196-7, Bermuda were 164-3 at tea.

10.43am: Wicket. Jekon Edness c Williams b Verwey 0. It goes from bad to worse for Bermuda as Edness survives just two balls before getting a thin edge to a sharply turning delivery from Verwey, and is well caught by Williams low to his left at second slip. 180-6

10.40am: Wicket. Malachi Jones run out 0. Disasterous stuff from Jones and Romaine, as Jones sets off for a quick run, only to see Romaine stay rooted to his spot at the non-striker's end. 180-5

10.30am: Wicket. Outerbridge c S Burger b Verwey 46. The worst possible start for Bermuda to the final session of the day. After spending the tea interval talking about the importance of seeing out the final two hours, vice captain Stephen Outerbridge falls in the fifth over after tea. The Bailey's Bay batsmen has a massive escape when he edges a ball through the slips, but two balls later he is undone by the high bounce and an attempted cut is athletically caught by Burger diving to his left at first slip. Bermuda 174-4.

10am: Tea. Outerbridge (39*) and Irving Romaine (10*) survive a nervy 50 minutes until tea. Honours even at this point with Bermuda at 164-3, but Romaine is looking less than convincing at the crease, and Outerbridge has had a couple of shaky moments since Hemp's dismissal.

9.10am: Wicket. Hemp c Verwey b Klazinga 52. A ball after reaching his fifty with a great straight drive, Hemp goes after Klazinga again and only succeds in edging it to Toby Verwey at slip.

8.46am: 50 partnership. David Hemp (37*) and Stephen Outerbridge (26*) reach the mid-session drinks break without too much worry. The pair have put on 51 in 14 overs, and have seen little to trouble them. Bermuda are 126-2 after 45 overs.

8.19am: It turns out that after some debate Foggo was actually given out caught behind, the ball flicked his gloves after hitting his pads, and was taken smartly by skipper Craig Williams, who has taken over the wicketkeeping duties after Ewald Steenkamp fell ill at lunch time.

On the field meanwhile David Hemp is happily ignoring his own advice about taking the four day game nice and steadily and has crashed the Namibian bowlers to all parts of the ground, including a towering six over mid wicket, racing to 34 off 41 balls. Bermuda are 104 -2 off 39 overs.

7.53am: Wicket. Chris Foggo's gone for 30 trapped in front lbw by spinner Toby Verwey. That's a crucial breakthrough for Namibia who saw David Hemp take 10 off Sarel Burger the previous over. Bermuda are 75-2 and Stephen Outerbridge has joined Hemp at the crease.

7.02am: That’s lunch, spinner Toby Verwey has a couple of overs, but Chris Foggo (30*) and David Hemp (6*) see their side through with no more losses. Foggo has looked increasingly comfortable at the crease, while Louie Klazinga has been Namibia’s biggest threat with the ball. 62-1.

6.50am: Wicket. 58-1 Fiqre Crockwell pushes at a quicker ball from the returning Louie Klazinga, but doesn’t get his foot all the way to the pitch of the ball and is caught at second slip by Sarel Burger. Incoming batsman is skipper David Hemp.

6.40am: 20 overs gone: The early demons in the track have all but gone and Foggo (18*) and Crockwell (13*) are settling in at the crease. The game’s not been without drama though. Crockwell came close to getting out in the 14th over when he mistimed an attempted pull off the bowling of Sarel Burger and saw the ball fly just past the outstretched hand of Nicholas Scholtz at point. 36-0

6am: Ten overs gone and it’s all about survival for Bermuda openers Chris Foggo (7*) and Fiqre Crockwell (9*) in the face of a firery opening spell from Louie Klazinga and Craig Williams. The Namibia duo are getting plenty of early bounce from the Wanderers wicket, and are beating the bat almost every other ball. However Foggo and Crockwell are looking solid, and if they can see off the first assault, the wicket should get flatter as the day goes on. 21-0.

5.20am: Eventful first over with Namibia pace bowler Louie Klazinga hitting Chris Foggo in the side of the head, first ball. The Bermuda batsman takes some time to recover before returning to the crease and surviving a big LBW shout the next ball. Edges the third ball for four, before Klazinga sends the ball flying through at chest hit for three consecutive delivers. 4-0

4.30am: Bermuda have won the toss and will bat on the first day of the Intercontinental Shield match against Namibia at Wanderers Stadium in Windhoek.

Bermuda have recalled St George’s bowler Ryan Steede to the side, while Malachi Jones is expected to bat at six.

Namibia meanwhile have the dangerous Gerrie Snyman back from New Zealand, in a side that also includes skipper Craig Williams, and teenage opener Raymond van Schoor.

Namibia: Raymond van Schoor, Ewald Steenkamp, Sarel Burger, Craig Williams, Louie Burger, Gerrie Snyman, Nicholas Scholtz, LP van der Westhuizen, Toby Verwey, Louie Klazinga, Bernard Scholtz.

Bermuda: Chris Foggo, Fiqre Crockwell, Stephen Outerbridge, David Hemp, Irving Romaine, Malachi Jones, Jekon Edness, Rodney Trott, Justin Pitcher, Ryan Steede, Stefan Kelly.
