Astwood returns in style
Stephen Astwood returned from a five-match suspension yesterday and took his revenge out on First Division outfit Wolves by slamming a hat-trick to lead his Premier side to this emphatic three-goal victory at White Hill Field.
The Trojans expectedly rolled into the next round of the FA Cup with ease, Astwood spearheading them with a fine performance with goals after five, 37 and 60 minutes. Rohaan Simons got their other goal after 57 minutes.
Substitute Leo Ming netted the sole goal for Wolves after 83 minutes, the substitute?s effort was a beauty as he blasted the ball home from 26 yards.
Wolves, though, could have made their opponents sweat it out in the first half instead of allowing them to finish with a comfortable 2-0 lead. Forward Vince Minors was the culprit missing several chances, one from as close as ten yards.
When the Trojans had gained a 3-0 lead just before the hour mark, Wolves were all but a beaten team, the Westenders ? with Joel Duffy prominent in the middle ? dominated and never looked like letting up.
When Astwood got his hat-trick after 60 minutes, the goal gave them a 4-0 lead and one couldn?t blame Wolves for throwing in the towel, but much to the surprise of everybody ? and during a rare counter-attack ? they caught the Trojans flat-footed when Ming stormed home a goal that added life to the game for a moment at least.
