BCBC mum after players' hearing
Top cricket officials were remaining tightlipped after last night's disciplinary hearing involving two of the Island's most prolific run-getters.
Southampton Rangers' captain Janeiro Tucker and St. David's player/coach Clay Smith were both summoned before a special Bermuda Cricket Board of Control (BCBC) disciplinary committee to answer charges stemming from articles in TheRoyal Gazette in which they were quoted prior to the recent Americas Cup in Argentina.
However, when both emerged from the Cedar Avenue offices last night their smiles suggested something less than a severe reprimand.
Later reliable sources close to the Board suggested that the pair had both received stern warnings from the disciplinary panel headed by BCBC second vice-president Gary Fray.
Fray, who beat out former BCBC president Ed Bailey for the Board's third highest position during last February's AGM, said that a statement would not be made on the matter until all parties involved had received formal written notification on the proceedings.
Meanwhile, it is also believed that Somerset skipper Wendell White may also be in hot water after he spoke to The Gazette on returning from Argentina.
