BEF praised at annual prizegiving
Bermuda?s top equestrians were rewarded when Bermuda Equestrian Federation held their annual prizegiving at Riddell?s Bay Golf Club last Saturday.
A capacity crowd of over 200 members and family supporters heard recently retired Director of Youth and Sports Tony Roberts praise the success of the BEF in terms of both their sporting accomplishments and administration.
He noted that what the Federation had achieved during his many years of working with them should set an example to other sporting bodies.
Awards were presented to competitors from the eight and under age group up to senior level as well as to horse and pony owners, coaches and stables.
Inwood Stables took home the Stable Award with Spicelands a close second while Abby Bardgett won the coaches award with Nick DeCosta second.
Receiving a number of trophies was Philip Correia and his horse Priamos who won the Raymond White Memorial Trophy, the Jeneration Debut Trophy and the Champion Senior Hunter Saddle Club Trophy. Correia also tied for Champion Adult Equitation with Melody Moran.
Kelby Lusher, who leaves this month for training in Germany, won the Junior Equitation (15 to 18 years) and the Seaview Trophy for Horse Jumping with Miakoda.
She was also presented with a cheque from the Bermuda Horse and Pony Association for winning the Rising Star Competition for promising riders.
