Bermuda reduced Canada to 126-6 atthe close of play to get back into their ICC Intercontinental Cup match after being skittled for 125 runs by the hosts.

All-rounder Saleem Mukuddem took three wickets while Hasan Durham collected two and Dwayne Leverock one to hold Canada. But Sunil Dhaniram was unbeaten on 72 at the close of play at the Toronto Cricket Club.

Earlier on the first day of the three-day match, Umar Bhatti had shattered the Bermuda batting order, taking eight wickets for 40 runs.

Only Clay Smith found a way to fend off the 21-year-old fast bowler, carving out a captain's innings of 52.

Even then, Bermuda looked in trouble when he fell, a last wicket stand between Dwayne Leverock (12) and Kevin Hurdle (11) got Bermuda past the century mark before Leverock was caught by Bagai off Bhatti to end the innings at 125.

Janeiro Tucker was the only other player to get into double figures with 25 which came during a 39-run partnership with Smith which took Bermuda's score from a miserable 13-4 to 52-5.
