Bermuda lost the first leg od their World Cup qualifying match with El Salvador 2-1.

In San Salvador, the hosts got goals from Jose Martinez in the 13th minute and Victor Velasquez in the 53rd around a tying goal by striker Shaun Goater in the 29th.

But coach Kenny Thompson can take comfort from the close score and the fact Bermuda scored an away goal in San Salvador.

Bermuda must win the home leg in Bermuda to go through to the next round by a score of 1-0 or by a margin of two goals or more to go through to the next round.
