Blakeney blasts ton as Bay romp to easy win

St. David?s eased to an eight-wicket triumph at home to Cleveland yesterday in a rain-reduced match.The visitors were sent in at Lord?s and scored 111 for three in 31 overs to which St. David?s replied smartly with 112 for the loss of just two scalps in 23.1 overs.

National team players OJ Pitcher and wicketkeeper Dean Minors tuned up for the ICC Trophy with 34 not out each to lead St. David?s? victory charge. The latter blasted four boundaries and a six while young Pitcher hit three fours. Opener Chris Foggo chipped in with 21 and there were 20 extras including 17 wides.

Cleveland?s score had earlier revolved around an unbeaten 53 by veteran Peter Philpott who hit seven boundaries while fellow opener Carlton Smith contributed 30.

Social Club made light work of Leg Trappers at Sea Breeze Oval, crushing their First Division opponents by eight wickets.

Sent into bat on a damp pitch, Leg Trappers were dismissed for an embarrassing 62 in 30 overs with Jonathan Kent (14) and James Broadbent (eight) topping their batting.

Kani Darrell led the Social Club bowling, claiming four for 14 while skipper Jahmiko Marhsall and Jaymo Durham took three for 15 and three for 16 respectively.

In reply to Leg Trappers? total, Marshall scored an unbeaten 25 while Dano Outerbridge contributed 18 as the visiting team romped to victory in exactly 17 overs.
