Boulevard feasted on the Eagles last night, comprehensively devouring the westenders in their Premier Division clash at BAA Field.

Skipper Shaki Crockwell led by example, scoring a hat-trick in the first 24 minutes.

Eagles had a little bit of resurgence early in the second half when Lamaul Crofton netted, but Jamah Samuels got the fourth for Boulevard three minutes from time to finish off the Somerset side for good.

Coming off inspiring victories over Somerset Trojans and North Village, last place Eagles were hoping to prove that they would not be languishing at the bottom of the tables for too long.

But Crockwell had other ideas.

Boulevard gave Eagles little time to settle down, hitting them early with Crockwell getting the opening goal after just two minutes when he steered home a cross from the left from just inside the penalty box.

On 17 minutes he took a one-two pass from Raymond Burgess and drilled the ball home from 16 yards to make it 2-0.

After 24 minutes Eagles fluffed a clearance and enabled that man Crockwell to gain control and whip home the third from just inside the box.

Eagles responded with hardworking Jelani Butterfield heading a Crofton corner against the post after 32 minutes.

Boulevard, though, had plenty of spark left and two minutes later Raymond Burgess watched in amazement as his angled shot was turned away by the agile Burrows in the Eagles goal.

The second half was uneventful with Boulevard playing with less intensity from the kick-off and allowing Eagles to claw themselves slowly into the game.

From a free-kick just outside the box by substitute Sean Dill that rebounded off goalkeeper Shejuan Swan, the alert Crofton poked home their lone goal from a few yards.

With the score 3-1 Boulevard were now forced to wake up, but they were unable to play with the authority they displayed in the opening half. That said, with three minutes left Jamah Samuels took advantage of another defensive mix up to score the fourth goal.
