Breaking news: Bermuda fights back
Bermuda fought back magnificently on a rain-hit second day of their
Intercontinental Cup clash against Kenya at the Gymkhana ground in Nairobi,
snapping up the hosts' last seven first innings wickets for 80 runs and dismissing
them for 205.
Bermuda had crumbled for 133 on the first day but began their second innings only
72 runs in arrears thanks to the heroics of pace bowlers Saleem Mukuddem and
Ryan Steede.
After the entire morning session was wiped out by heavy rain, Bermuda came out
after lunch firing on all cylinders.
Mukuddem claimed three more wickets, including the key scalp of Kenya skipper
Steve Tikolo, to add to the three he grabbed on the opening day and finished with
superb figures of six for 50 off 14 overs.
Steede also played a huge part in the fightback, claiming three for 41 off 14.1
overs.
Dwayne Leverock was the other wicket taker, finishing with one for 60 off 15
overs.
Bermuda's day was only marred in fading light in the penultimate over of the day
when they lost the wickets of opener Stephen Outerbridge for 14 and
nightwatchman Leverock for nought.
Kwame Steede (3) and David Hemp will resume on Tuesday morning.
