Breaking News: Thompson joins national team
Kenny Thompson has been appointed assistant national coach, The Royal Gazette can reveal.
It was confirmed this afternoon the Somerset Eagles player/coach had agreed to come onboard as a deputy to his successor Keith Tucker to assist in Bermuda’s stuttering 2010 World Cup preparations.
It is understood national coach Tucker, who has come under increasing pressure following a recent string of disappointing results, made the recommendation to have Thompson return to the senior national setup.
Thompson resigned as senior national coach, following a second term, due to frustration with the lack of fixtures at that level.
The former Bermuda Football Association (BFA) youth development officer will now hit the ground running with the senior national team due to take on the visiting New England Revolution tonight at the National Sports Centre (NSC).
