Bromby hoping for big finish
Bermudian sailing duo Peter Bromby and Bill McNiven lie in 20th place at the Bacardi Star Class regatta off Key Biscayne, Florida with only two races remaining.
After being disqualified from race three along with 14 other boats for a premature start and dropping from fourth place to 26th as a result, they needed more than their 12th placed finish in race four to push themselves back into contention.
But with the opportunity to discard their disqualification result and two more chances to excel in the prestigious six-race regatta, all is not lost for Bromby and McNiven, who have not sailed competitively together for over 20 years.
Bromby is a two-time Bacardi Cup champion, with his last victory coming in 2003.
He has previously sailed in the regatta with his Olympic crew Lee White and with Martin Siese.
