City youth give the Goat a helping hand
Over 150 youngsters are participating in this week's third annual Shaun Goater Grassroots Soccer Festival at the National Sports Centre.
And again Manchester City's Youth Academy have arrived on the Island to lend their support during the festival before squaring off against Kyle Lightbourne's national team on Friday night at the NSC.
"They (City) will be taking the kids through different demonstrations in which each kid will be judged on time," explained Goater.
Participants will be assessed on their ball juggling abilities, dribbling and shooting skills. According to event organisers some 75 players are expected to compete in the skills competition today and tomorrow with only a total of ten advancing through to Saturday's finals.
Saturday will also see the NSC host the corporate cup competition involving teams comprised of players over the age of 18.
In addition, one lucky young player will receive the chance of a lifetime ? suiting up for City against Bermuda on Friday night and then spending a week with the team in the UK later this year.
Last year saw Devonshire Cougars' Lovintz Tota play for City against Bermuda at the Sports Centre.
City's touring entourage consists of 16 players, four coaches, one physician and one other senior team official.
