Combined finish with a bang . . .
Combined 106, US 64
The Under 19s Combined team saved their best until last.
The team comprising of Belize and Bahamas players had been outplayed by opponents until Saturday's final game at White Hill when they scored a stunning 42-run victory over the US _ their first triumph in the tournament.
Comprehensively beaten in previously low-scoring games, Combined raced to their highest total of the week and then turned in their best bowling and fielding performances.
"It's was a good day for us, everybody was happy that we finished with this win after being beaten so easily by everybody else," said allrounder Ken Galvez, who was top batsman with 36 and then led the bowling by taking four for 12 off 8.1 overs.
The heavily favoured US side made early inroads in the batting and it looked as though Combined would suffer yet another heavy loss. They lost their first wicket at 11 and second at 19 but thanks to Galvez and Troy Rhabum (12) they were able to reach the century mark for the firist time.
Also among the runs was Wane Young with 13 and Tyrone Bood with 10.
Komal Sing was the leading bowler for the US with three for seven off 5.5 overs, including three maidens.
The US appeared to be coasting towards their winning target of 107 but after rain interrupted play briefly at 45 for two they were never able rediscover their form.
Their batting failed miserably with only opener Aamer Afzeluddin in double figures with 32 as nobody else scored more than four in what was their worst display of the tournament.
Assisting Galvez in the destruction was Mykett Anthony who snatched two for five off four overs with two maidens while Troy Rhabum grabbed two for seven off 10 overs with six maidens and Tyrone Bood two for 36 off six overs.
Cayman Islands 197, Argentina 104
Joe Kirkconnell struck 84 to lead Cayman Islands to this 93-run victory over Argentina at Southampton Oval.
With number three bat Kickconnell leading the way after openers D.Morris (19) and Greg Ebanks (21) had put on 45, Caymans went on to post a formidable target. The other bat in double figures was Salon Linton with 14.
Pablo Ryan led Argentina's attack with three for 50 off 10 overs while Pablo Ferguson took two for 29 off 10 overs and Esteban Macdermott two for 32 off 10 overs.
Argentina's batting struggled against an attack led by Alan Wight who claimed four for 22 off 10 overs, including two maidens. Dwight Rivers returned two for 21 off seven overs and Omar Bryan two for 30 off nine.
