A wide range of issues will be discussed at this year?s annual Sports Conference next week.

During the two-day session, presentations will be made on topics such as obesity, diabetes, sport fitness, research tools and methods and women in sport.

Chairman for the Bermuda Council for Drug Free Sport, Jon Beard, will also give a presentation and the hotly-debated matter of Government grants and loans to sporting organisation will come under scrutiny.

This year?s conference starts next Thursday at the Bermuda National Centre Cricket Pavilion and will move to the Fairmont Hamilton Princess on Saturday.

Among those slated to speak at the annual meeting between sports organisations and Government are Dr. Gerard Bean, Dr. J.Astride-Stirling, Dr. Julie Brewster, Director of Youth and Sport Tony Roberts, Brenda Dale and Glenn Simons who will address the matter of Government grants.

Sports Minister Dale Butler said yesterday it ?promises to be an informative two days? and urged all sports bodies to send a representative.
