Cup rivals try again
Devonshire Cougars and Dandy Town had to go back to the drawing board over the weekend after their Martonmere Cup clash was called off with just 14 minutes remaining on Saturday night.
Referee George O'Brien brought an end to proceedings in the 76th minute with the scores at 1-1 when thunder and lightning ravaged BAA Field.
O'Brien brought the teams off, amidst some protests, originally intending for it just to be a temporary halt.
However, with the storm continuing to rage he had no option but to call the tie off.
That match, and North Village against PHC, will take place tonight at the same venue. The first game is scheduled for 7 p.m. with the second at 9 p.m.
Fans who attended the abandoned match will be able to gain entry tonight free of charge, so long as they still have the ticket stubs from the weekend.
