Dillas beaten by US visitor
Leading Bermuda hope and medallist Jarryd Dillas tumbled out of the Bermuda Match Play Championships at windy Mid Ocean Club yesterday, as he was beaten by American visitor David Hayes one-up.
In other championship flight matches, former professional Anthony Mocklow also made an early exit as he went down to local teenager David A. Smith four and three, and Garry Carr defeated Nick Mansell two-up.
Visitor Cy Kilgore also advanced to the quarter-finals with a three and two victory over Bill Cosgrove while local player David Allison edged Bill Jenks one up.
Arthur Jones, Jack Lander and Trevor carvey will complete this morning's quarter-final line-up.
In women's play yesterday, medallist and favourite Ebony Burgess comfortably beat Mee-Lin Barbey six and four and remains on track for a final showdown with Susie Elton who defeated Wendy Salvia five and four.
