Paget striker Yusaff Pitt returns to Lion's team roster tonight after serving a one-match ban.

Pitt was sent off during his team's 2-1 opening First Division Dudley Eve clash against St.George's at Somerset Cricket Club for pulling his jersey over his head in celebration of netting Lion's equaliser in the 56th minute.

The former Devonshire Cougars winger and Bailey's Bay seamer's return now adds more bite into a Paget attack also boasting the likes of Dion Stovell.

However, player/coach Marvin Belboda is currently off Island while striker Devone Bailey, who limped off injured during Monday's 2-1 loss Wolves at Lords, will be included in tonight's semi-final clash against St.George's at Somerset Cricket Club.

Bailey, a former Southampton Rangers' striker, has also been juggling between football and motocross riding at Clearwater along with team-mate Enwar Hunt over the Christmas break.

St.David's sweeper Milton Jones is resting comfortably after a harrowing ordeal at the Den last Friday night.

Jones was knocked unconscious after colliding with his own goalie Sidney Minors during the Warriors' 3-1 loss to a Vincent Minors-inspired Wolves. The central defender was taken by ambulance to hospital for further observations and later released. Jones sat out St.David's 2-1 defeat to St.George's on Wednesday night at the Den. The Islanders, now eliminated from the festive tournament, pocketed $750 for their efforts.

Brothers Herbie and Andrew Bascome both coached their teams to inspiring victories at the Den on Wednesday night.

Herbie's St.George's, last year's First Division Dudley Eve runners up, defeated nearby rivals St.David's to advance to tonight's semi final while Andrew's Devonshire Cougars eliminated Somerset Trojans from the competition to keep their hopes of appearing in a second straight Dudley Eve final alive. Just to keep it all in the family, Herbie's son Oronde also played for St. George's.

Cougars coach Bascome, a devout fan of Brazil, finally conceded to this reporter that Argentina will advance further than the kings of samba football at next year's World Cup Final in Germany from his team's bench during Wednesday night's cup clash at the Den.

Still on the subject of family, Wolves coach Eugene Crockwell pulled one over son Fiqre at the Den last Friday night.

The senior Crockwell's Wolves steam rolled over his son's Warriors, Fiqre's night ending prematurely when he was substituted at the half.

Somerset Trojans forward Stephen Astwood was the focal point of much discussion at the Den on Wednesday.

Astwood's name was included on the Trojans' team sheet but the player was nowhere to be found around the ground.

But rumours Astwood had fallen out of favour with team officials were put to rest yesterday as deputising coach Paul Scope confirmed the player had a previous engagement and, as such, was questionable.

Another rumour suggesting coach Dennis Brown was resigning were also laid to rest by club officials.

Meanwhile, it was learned yesterday that Trojans' striker Rodre (Piper) Wilson could possibly face disciplinary action for an internal matter club officials refused to divulge.

Like Astwood, Wilson was also absent for Trojans ? who pocketed $750 for finishing fourth among the Premier Division Dudley Eve.

Former Dandy Town star striker Khano Smith has been spotted spurring his beloved Hornets on the from the sidelines. Smith has quickly risen to notoriety in the US playing professionally with the New England Revolution in the Major League Soccer (MLS).

Now all Hornets need do is find a way to convince former sweeper Troy (Tortoise) Durham that a previous rivalry with former Boulevard 'keeper George O'Brien officially ended nearly a decade ago. The pair had plenty to say to each other before indulging in laughter following Hornets' 2-0 loss to North Village on Monday at Lords.

North Village Community Club president Shervin Dill has assured the local football fraternity that the notorious branch that has wreaked havoc at Bernard Park this season has been chopped down ? by Ministry of Agriculture staff.
