Dunkley, Madeiros take honours
Riaan Naude and Anna Eatherley were first male and female runners across the finish line but the top prizes in Tuesday's annual BF&M Weight Handicap Road Race in St. George's went to Stephen Dunkley and Joanne Madeiros.
The popular event decides its winners by dividing the runners' time in seconds over the five kilometre course by their weight in pounds.
And with the calculations complete it was Dunkley and Madeiros who came out on top.
On weight handicap, Brett Forgesson placed second among the men and Ervin Bean third. Darcy Gimas was the second female followed by Patty Merritt.
Yann Fullerman and Danielle Farrington won the respective male and female junior handicap divisions.
Naude recorded the fastest time of 17 minutes and eight seconds while Eatherley clocked 19.01.
Andre Bassett and Karen Burchall were the first male and female walkers.
Full results will be published in The Royal Gazette later this week.
