Eve cards hole-in-one
Swaine Eve provided the sensation of the opening day of the Bermuda Four Ball Championships at Port Royal when he carded a hole-in-one at the par three third. But he and partner Paul Spring could only muster an 85, which leaves them a mammoth 17 strokes off the pace set by Bill Pitt and Leroy Burch.
Heading the chase on 72 are Randy Richardson and Maxwell Curtis, the St. George's-based pairing, while a stroke further back are Tim Carr and Joey McRonald, last year's runners-up and the pre-tournament favourites, along with Henry Barrie and Randy Wenger, of Canada.
The event is minus Gary Carr, who won with Paul Harkness last year, and Henry Ascento, a multiple winner with Pitt, as they are off to Caracas, Venezuela, to compete in the biennial Simon Bolivar tournament.
