'Everyone contributed' ? skipper

On the eve of his team?s ODI against Bermuda in Toronto, Canadian fast bowler Umar Bhatti predicted the hosts would make a clean sweep of their Americas rivals.

It?s a good thing Bhatti is in the business of playing cricket and not fortune telling as Bermuda scored a convincing victory over the Canadians and now find themselves in position to record a rare hat-trick of victories over the hosts.

It was a win Bermuda skipper Irving Romaine later attributed to a fine allround display by his team-mates.

?As you saw the bowlers came out on a mission today and hardly strayed,? he said.

?George O?Brien did have a few stray deliveries down the leg side, but Kevin Hurdle picked the offside line and bowled to the field where the fielders held onto their catches.?

The senior batsman, who suffered a slight groin strain in the field, also paid tribute to Kwame Tucker for some outstanding glovework.

?That was some beautiful wicketkeeping by Kwame,? Romaine said.

?And when you can do some of the things he did today you know you are on. He went above and beyond what was expected of him.? Bermuda gained the upperhand early in the Canadian?s innings, and never once loosened their grip on proceedings.

?We always know John Davison is going to give a chance and it just so happened that it came in the first over and we took it and that set them back,? Romaine said.

?I thought overall we did well in the field and as they say ?catches win matches?.?

Romaine also praised his batsmen for the sensible manner in which they occupied the crease.

?We had a very good approach from our opening batsmen and all of our batsmen seemed more relaxed at the wicket going after their shots,? he said.

?Now if we beat them today then that will be a sweep for us. So we are hoping to push on and if we can maintain consistency then we should do very well in the Americas Championships.?
