Robin Hood 0 Ireland Rangers 3

If Ireland Rangers are to gain promotion to the top flight at season's end, then they will have to perform at a much higher level than yesterday's defeat of Commercial League side Robin Hood.

Although Rangers went ahead early courtesy of forward Shakir Smith's tenth minute strike, the runaway First Division leaders were stretched to the limit against an aggressive, yet aged, Hood squad.

Nicknamed the 'Merry men', Hood proved anything but, resorting to an aggressive approach that at times left Rangers players writhing in pain after coming out on the worst end of tackles that made WWF Monday night wrestling look like child's play.

Despite trailing early, Hood bravely fought on in search of an equaliser while repeatedly frustrating their heavily-favoured opponents.

The Commercial team's best chance fell to Italian frontman Massimo Tirotta, who was hacked down from behind in the penalty area only for the referee to call for a corner.

The incident was snapped by a cameraman standing near the touchline and the photo clearly showed that an offence had been committed in the area.

That, however, would be the closest Hood would come to scoring as age would eventually take a toll and open the floodgates for Rangers.

Sean Brangman doubled Rangers lead after 70 minutes before prolific goal poacher Henry Santucci finally put a gasping Hood side out of their misery with a goal four minutes from time.

Lobster Pot 0

Devonshire Cougars 9

Aljame Zuill scored a hat-trick to lead his Premier Division side to a lopsided nine-goal triumph over their Commercial League opponents at White Hill.

The one-sided clash saw Cougars establish supremacy early with Zuill getting two of his goals in the opening half, also scoring before the turn around were Jamal Simmons, and Domico Coddington. Saleem Mukuddem scored an own goal.

The lead was five at the break with Lobster Pot having only fight and determination to oppose their superior opponents but the minnows, inspired in the middle by Mukuddem who was by far their best player, were forced to play catch-up throughout.

Cougars were also spearheaded by a player in the middle, Darrius Cox proving to be sharp the entire game providing his attackers with defence-splitting balls.

Cougars continued to romp in the second half with goals coming from Zuill, Ryan Swan, substitute Randy Robinson and Kwame Steede.

Prospect 1

Valley 0

First Division Prospect eased into the next round of the FA Cup with a slim victory over their Commercial League opponents at Prospect.

It took a goal midway through the first half by Leroy Mathurin to settle the issue, a fine shot that he put home after 25 minutes.

Clifford Roberts and Quinton Francis were the outstanding players for the home side as they provided the attack with countless passes from the middle of the pitch, but much of the team's success has to also be attributed to goalkeeper Kuhn Evans who played well from start to finish to deny a determined Valley side from beating him.

Hamilton Parish 3

Key West Rangers 3

Irving Burgess struck a hat-trick but his Hamilton Parish team were still unable to end Key West Rangers' run in the competition with the latter earning a replay.

Parish held a slim 2-1 lead at the interval but a courageous fight back by Rangers saw them regroup and get the replay they fought so hard to obtain.

Rangers' goalscorers were unavailable last night.
