Five-star Rangers stay top of table

Henry Santucci netted a hat -trick to spur unbeaten league leaders Ireland Rangers to an emphatic win over Social Club at Malabar yesterday.

Santucci converted in the ninth, 62nd and 78th minutes to complete a fine treble which propelled Rangers to their fifth win of the season to keep them two points ahead of second-placed Devonshire Colts.

Social Club upset the form book and grabbed a surprise lead after only five minutes.

But the joy would be short-lived as Santucci outpaced the Bluebird?s defence, rounded the advancing ?keeper and slotted the ball home to draw the teams level.

Matthew Carvelho then gave Rangers the lead for good with a sweet volley from 12 yards that gave the ?keeper no chance.

And with half-time looming, Andre Outerbridge put the match well beyond the visitor?s reach.

Santucci picked up where he left off after the break, again undoing the Social Club defence with his pace and beating the onrushing ?keeper.

The Rangers? stalwart then completed his hat trick and rounded off the scoring with a shot from just outside of the 18-yard box that went in off the far post.

Aljame Zuill fired a hat-trick as promotion contenders Devonshire Colts kept pace with league leaders Ireland Rangers.

The Bermuda national team striker converted in the 11th, 31st and 63rd minutes, while Ryan Nesbitt (53rd), Keimon Lawrence (60th) and Ryan Purnell (84) were also on target for Colts.

Winless Parish replied through goals from Lyndon Butterfield either side of the half.

Visiting Southampton Rangers came from behind to outscore St.George?s Colts at Wellington Oval.

The East Enders took a first-half lead through striker Allan Douglas Jr.

Rangers, however, came storming back via goals from brothers Lamar and Donnie Charles (penalty) and Azir Lowe.
