Flag Football launches league

The Bermuda Flag Football League will begin its inaugural season next month at Bernard Park.Interested players are invited to attend registration and try-outs on March 2 at 10 a.m.Try-outs will consist of a variety of tests, including a 40-yard dash, 20-yard shuttle, vertical, QB drills, punting, kicking and snapping drills. The trials are held for the purpose of evaluating the skills of players which will help ensure parity in the new league. But no experience is necessary and no players will be cut due to a poor trial.

The inaugural BFFL draft will take place at MR Onions on March 4 at 8 p.m. Payment of $50 membership fee is due on that date.

The fees are to help pay for jerseys, possible field rentals and various other expenses. They will also help the league expand in the future.

The number of teams in the league will depend on the number of players registering but organisers hope to have eight players per team.

The season begins on March 16 with the length of the season depending on the number of teams participating.
