Four-goal Hood rob bottom side Raiders of the points

Robin Hood maintained their grip on the Commercial ‘A' Division after Saturday's comfortable 4-0 dismantling of PHC Raiders.

Goals from Alan Mooney, Derek Stapley, David Wolfe and Simon Turner were more than enough to get by their hosts who remain anchored to the bottom of the table.

Hood's nearest rivals, Key West Rangers, managed to evade a dogged Vasco Mariners side 4-2 after the teams were locked at one each at the break.

Wayne Augustus (two), Ricky Mallory and Armell Thomas all featured on the scoresheet for Rangers, while Michael Maiato replied for Mariners.

Third placed MR Onions were held to a 2-2 draw by seventh placed North Village Rams. Ricky Hill gave Rams an early lead in the ninth minute of play, however, Onions' Stephen Ludgate levelled moments before the half.

Onions then took the lead through Gary Garnett in the 63rd minute, before Rams' second half substitute Derek Bell scored a late equaliser to give his team a share of the spoils. Tuff Dogs continued their recent decline on Saturday, Lobster Pot strolling into their backyard and snatching a 3-1 win. Pots' Troy Berkeley was the key man, netting a hat-trick, while Jeff Franklin was the only Dog allowed out to score.

BAA Wanderers shut out Cable and Wireless 2-0. Gary Wilson and Gary Stewart both supplied the goods for the Wanderers.

In Commercial B Division action over the weekend, Prospect/Fire doused league leaders St. George's All-stars' flame with a 2-1 win. David Kinnersley and Lloyd Peterkin applied the knockout punch for their team.

Second placed Prison Officers were awarded maximum points without having to kick a ball as a five-man Wolves outfit showed up without the rest of the “Pack”. Officers now remain seven points adrift of St. George's All-stars.

Dockyard Falcons soared high beyond the reach of Bermuda Pest Control 5-3. Falcons were lead by two-goal hero Johnny Perriera, Terrence Corday, Junior DeSilva and substitute Chris Gibbons. Ernest Spence, Anthony Francis and goalkeeper Stephen Watts, with 90th minute penalty, replied in vain for Pest Control. Somerset Extros enjoyed a good afternoon against Valley International, comfortably emerging with a 6-2 win. Extros went a goal down to Valley before storming back to win decisively.

Lloyd Telford got the westenders back on even terms before Everette Wellman, Ronue Cann and substitutes Troy Thompson and Chris Dailey sealed the victory. Valley could only muster meek resistance, Kevin Isaac and McDonald Simmons replying in consolation.

During an all Devonshire battle between Devonshire Lions and Devonshire All-stars, All-Stars battled from behind to secure a 4-4 draw. All-Stars scored through Kenny Dill (two), Colin Zuill and super-sub Jeff Richardson.
