Gibbons notches up the runs again
Bermuda?s Treadwell Gibbons Jr. stroked a patient 31 runs during Arbroath United CC?s seven-wicket away win over Fort Hill CC on Saturday in Scotland.
Gibbons smashed four fours off 90 balls and featured in an 80-run opening stand with Kevin Robb.
Fort Hill CC mustered 184 for eight in 45 overs while Arbroath replied with 185 for three in this Strathmore Union Premier Division League contest.
The left-handed batsman is again expected to be included in Arbroath?s plans for this Saturday?s away league clash with Sterling County CC.
Gibbons scored 43 runs on his debut for Arbroath in the UK on April 17.
?You can?t afford to rush into things as the wickets are slower out here,? Gibbons explained to from Scotland. ?The standard of play is fairly high although I haven?t really played at the highest level here yet.?
That opportunity will arrive in the form of Sterling County CC on Saturday, as Gibbons finally gets a chance to test his mettle at the highest domestic level in Scotland.
?My new team-mates out here have made me feel right at home,? added Gibbons, indulging in a mid-day football kick-a-about with team members at Arbroath yesterday. ?I love it out here and I feel very comfortable.?
Gibbons is currently on a six-month playing contract at Arbroath.
