Goals galore in Goodwill

Goodwill soccer continued in the west end at Somerset Cricket Club, during an evening where goals were yet again in abundance.

Dockyard Falcons edged out Valley FC 4-3 and tournament hosts Somerset Extros comfortably escaped a depleted Prison Officers team 5-2, to head the standings going into the final round of matches slated for tomorrow night at the same venue.

In the opening fixture Dockyard Falcons put on gritty display to record an incredible come from behind win over Valley, who appeared to be running away with the match after Kevin Isaac (two) and Sean Simons gave their team a solid start.

However, Falcons had other plans and made their presence felt just prior to the half with a brilliant display of finishing to take a 4-3 advantage into the break and beyond. Their goals came from Junior DeSilva (two), Sean Woods and Blake Outerbridge.

In the feature match, Extros easily disposed of a reduced Prison Officers team 5-2. Craig Brangman netted a pair for the hosts, while Michael Bremar, Everette Wellman and tournament director, Michael Corday rounded out the scoring.

Donald Norford was the sole contributor for Officers, notching both goals for the `Men in Blue'.

Tomorrow Valley FC take on Prison Officers followed by the finale in which Extros will attempt to extend their unbeaten record against Dockyard Falcons. Proceeds from the event are in aid of Extros' junior soccer programme.
