Bermuda stuttered in the opening session of the third day's play in their Intercontinental Cup match against Holland at the L.C.DeVilliers Oval, losing four wickets on a morning of mixed fortunes.

While both overnight batsmen, Stephen Outerbridge (80) and skipper Clay Smith (14), were sent back to the pavilion as well as Janeiro Tucker (10) and Dean Minors (12), a steady David Hemp remained unbeaten on 51, his highest score for Bermuda since joining the squad at the start of this tour.

Hemp and Saleem Mukuddem (4 not out) safely took the score past the follow-on target of 229 and at lunch Bermuda were 245 for six, 133 runs behind Holland's first innings total of 378.

Holland desperately require first innings batting points in order to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for next year's Intercontinental Cup final.

Outerbridge, who began the day on 61 - his highest score in four-day cricket - added 19 more runs before being bowled by Ryan ten Doeschate with the total on 154. Smith followed, having scored 14, trapped lbw by ten Doeschate - a decision he clearly didn't agree with.

Tucker was undone by the spin of Muhammad Kashif, caught by Peter Borren for 10, while Dean Minors also fell to an lbw decision off Daan van Bunge, after adding 12.
