Missed chances proved costly for the men from the Commercial League who took the game to their Premier Division rivals early on but ultimately succumbed.

Hood's always willing Simon Turner and full of running David Wolffe caused problems for Colts from the start, and they were unlucky to see the lineman's flag raised for offside when Wolffe directed a deft header inside the post after six minutes.

Midway through the half, Turner pounced on an uncharacteristic error by Shannon Burgess on the half-way line as he collected the ball and headed for a one-on-one confrontation with `keeper Kevin Bean. However, the presence of an ever-closing Burgess combined with the distance he had to run, perhaps caused Turner to rush his shot and he couldn't get it past Colts custodian.

Hood were made to pay in the 36th minute when referee Tony Mouchette awarded Colts a free kick on the edge of the box. As Hood were still debating the award, the kick was taken to Aljame Zuill, on for Lloyd Holder and he fired high into the net past the helpless Randy Darrell.

That goal gave Colts the momentum and they continued to assert themselves as the game reached half-time, Quincy Aberdeen forcing a fine save from Darrell.

Jermaine Aberdeen had an opportunity to extend the lead but scuffed his shot and Dennis Zuill fired over the bar with his first touch after coming off the bench but that was as close as Colts came.

Hood coach Paul Scope was pleased with his team's performance. "I think we more than matched them," he said afterwards. "I didn't see too much wrong with the disallowed goal but obviously the linesman saw it from a better angle than me. That would have made a difference, getting ahead after five minutes.

"But I thought we kept going and they didn't create too much so I'm well pleased with the effort they put in."

Prospect/Fire 0 Boulevard 4

First Division leaders Boulevard could have easily scored twice as many goals in this FA Cup triumph at Police Field yesterday.

It proved to be a day of frustration for their forwards who agonised in the first half when chance after chance was wasted with Raymond Burgess and Michael Parsons the two main culprits.

Burgess got the lone first half goal after 10 minutes. But the trend quickly changed in the second half.

After 47 minutes, the home side's defender Paul Fenwick miskicked and Melchisedec Gibbons was on hand to notch the first of his two goals from close range.

Three minutes later Shaki Crockwell put them ahead 3-0 and then it was left to Gibbons, who made several fine sprints down the right flank, to get the fourth by slamming home from 14 yards after 74 minutes.
