I?m loving this goal a game lark

It?s great to be scoring goals again this regularly ? two in two games, that?s just like the old days for me.

No, but seriously, it is good to get on the scoresheet in consecutive games and, more importantly, it is good that we got wins in both of the games too.

We are on a roll at the moment and things are going really well for all of us.

The secret to putting a long run together is playing the right type of football and the majority of the players performing well in each game ? something that has been happening for quite a while for us now.

As a team, we owe a lot to the gaffer. He is very positive with us all, whatever the result, always looking to praise players and congratulate us on things we are doing in games.

Even when things are going against us, he doesn?t harp on about the negatives, instead always finding something positive to say. He is a great influence on all of us and is doing a great job of getting the most out of his resources and his players.

Coming off with 15 minutes to go in games, like I have done the last couple of matches, is good management of both me and the rest of the team.

From my point of view, the game is won and I have scored my goal and giving me that bit of rest helps me be ready for the next match, which in this case is as soon as tonight.

But from a team point of view, it keeps everyone involved and makes sure that all the replacement guys just get that match time so that, if they are called upon later, they are ready and up with the pace of the game.

Fans don?t always realise the importance of this. Even if the team is winning game after game, if you are sitting on the bench and not getting any playing time and not being involved, then when you are needed you can?t always slot right into the side.

Keeping as many players as possible involved is good for the individuals and good for the team ? I think it is pretty much the League One equivalent of the squad rotations they now use in the Premiership.

Our season is going incredibly well at the moment but no one is getting ahead of themselves. The gaffer isn?t talking about promotion and the play-offs and none of us players really are either.

There are 14 games left and that is an eternity, far too many games to be thinking about next season and where we might be playing.

The crunch time is really going to come for us when we get to about ten games left. That is when people will start working out how many wins you are going to need for a guaranteed promotion place and when the countdown is really on.

The ten-game mark pretty much coincides with the Colchester game, so that is going to be massive for everyone connected with the club.

And we have a pretty big game tonight against Brentford. This will be a huge one for us and we are all ready for the challenge. We have been on a great unbeaten run and everyone is going to be pulling together to make sure we keep it going tonight.
