It?s all over and time for a well-earned rest

Well, that?s it for another year and a chance to get some rest. But it was a disappointing note to end the season on.We played really poorly in losing to Watford, especially given what was at stake for us.In the end, the other results didn?t go the way we wanted, but we didn?t do ourselves any favours with the way we played.

But it was a disappointing note to end the season on.

We played really poorly in losing to Watford, especially given what was at stake for us.

In the end, the other results didn?t go the way we wanted, but we didn?t do ourselves any favours with the way we played.

It is a sad way to end things ? it is always a shame to go into the summer break on a downer.

To not win three games in a row all season is very disappointing. It amazes me that we could have had a chance, even a slim one, of getting into the play-offs when we went a whole season just winning two games at a time and then losing one.

We have been very inconsistent all year and that statistics sums it all up

It shows we are not quite there, and if we had got to the play-offs we may not have had enough to go up.

And even if we had got promoted, we would probably not have been ready and may have struggled.

But there will be changes for next year and we will be looking to try again.

There is no doubt that I will be here next season, but we can expect a few other people to be coming and going.

Every club brings people in and lets people go over the summer to try and freshen things up for the next year. There will probably be three or four players heading away from Reading but hopefully we will add two or three more.

Exactly what the changes are is up to the boss and only he will know who we can expect to see here for next season.

When we come back on June 28 there will be renewed optimism at the club. I came here to do a job and that is to try and get us promoted and that is what we will try to do. I have two years left and I am committed to the cause.

All of us have a fitness test tomorrow ? so they have something to compare us to when we come back in June ? and then after that I will have a week to ten days of rest.

I have been nursing a hamstring for some time now and general fatigue is getting to me a little bit. I just want to get this fitness test out the way and then I can relax and spend some time with the kids ? but nothing in terms of physical stuff.

I will be kept busy sorting things out for the Grassroots festival in Bermuda towards the end of the month and then I am going to start the physical training again to prepare for the game against the Manchester City Youth Academy and then the World Cup game against El Salvador.

I will be heading back to Bermuda around the Holiday weekend (May 24) and will be spending the whole summer there before we come back for training on June 28 ? the season is starting earlier this year.

When I get back, I will be building my fitness up again and am looking forward to training with the boys for the World Cup game.
