It?s going to be emotional
I have heard that as many 200 Man City fans are planning to come to the final game of my international career and that makes me proud ? prouder than winning any award.
I heard some fans were going to come to the final league game against Bristol City but I thought it was going to be about ten or something like that.
But now I hear there could be as many as 200 and that would be incredible and I am very grateful that they think about me in that way.
It shows how much they have loved watching me play football and it means so much to me. Then is no greater thank you in football than fans coming out like that.
It was always going to be an emotional day but now it is going to be even more special.
Hopefully it will be a great day for everyone, I can celebrate my last day in pro football and the fans can celebrate Southend?s promotion.
I haven?t thought it about it that much, but with all the City fans there and hopefully promotion for Southend it could very emotional for everyone.
I?ve cried about football before but I don?t think I ever have I have in front of fans ? we?ll have to see how it goes and I will try and keep my emotions in check.
And hopefully by then we will have achieved the promotion we are looking for.
The most important thing we had to do after losing last week was to get back on the winning trail straight away and we did that with another 3-0 win.
It was a great performance and a very important result for us, made even better because some other important results for our rivals went our way.
There are not a lot of games left now and everything is in our hands.
We have to keep playing the way we have been and show no weakness to send out the message to the other teams chasing for promotion that we are not giving up the position we have got ourselves into easily.
We have a tough trip to Bournemouth coming up and we have to ensure that we go out there and put in another strong showing.
I?d like to say congratulations to everyone at Reading for their promotion to the Premiership.
They deserve all the accolades for the way they have played this season. They have gone at it and stuck to their guns and pulled off some great results to get the promotion so early.
I have stayed in touch with a few of the lads and I spoke to Bobby (Convey, US international and Reading winger) since they got the promotion.
He told how great the atmosphere is and how the players have been celebrating. It?s great for them and their fans and I hope they can make the most of their chance in the top league.
Now all we have to do at Southend is make sure we get our promotion as well.
