It?s rubbish to lose like that!

We might have only lost 2-1 but after being beaten like that, it feels like we lost 6-0.Normally when you score a goal, even if your team doesn?t win, you can normally have some satisfaction but I don?t have any after losing to MK Dons.

I feel rubbish.

And we certainly got a taste of how the rest of our season is going to go in that match.

There are eight games left and I bet they are all going to be like that. Teams are going to come after us and fight and battle and chase everything.

Whether you are bottom of the league scrapping for every point or you are mid-table and just want to spoil the party, teams are going to make us work hard for our promotion.

And they certainly did spoil our party. We walked off the field and we were all so disappointed.

If we needed a wake up call, this was it. I know we are still top of the league by six points but we got a measure on Saturday of how hard it is going to be for us to get what we want out of this season.

Every game is going to be a battle.

And the gaffer was honest with us afterwards and said that if we played like we did that first 25 minutes, half-hour, we are not going to get promoted.

So what we have to do now is bounce straight back.

We need to get a win in our next game and show that we mean business and send out a message to other teams in the league that we are not going to give up our position without a fight.

There is no doubt we have the players, but we just didn?t gel in that game. There was an expectation that we were going to get a big result against MK Dons who are right at the bottom but when the match got going they didn?t play like a team who haven?t won many games.

They just scrapped for everything and we are going to have to be ready for that sort of encounter because I think that is how they are all going to be from now on.

There?s a long way to go still which means myself, Freddy (Eastwood) and the other strikers are going to have keep getting the goals.

We need clean sheets as well but we just have to keep scoring. I have scored a few in recent weeks and that has to continue.

The one I got on Saturday is what everyone likes to call a ?typical Shaun Goater goal?.

I got a great cross from Luke (Guttridge) and I got on to it first time. I hit into the top of the ball, so I sort of hit it into the ground. But the ?keeper had gambled and gone the wrong way, so in the end it didn?t matter how cleanly I made contact.

I?d like to say it nestled into the corner but I think it would be more accurate to say it bobbled in.
