Junior squash players win divisions

One of the largest squash teams to ever represent Bermuda at the annual Junior CASA Championships got into action yesterday in Jamaica.

The team came third overall last year, and two of the top players, Laura Robinson in girls Under 17, and Michael Shrubb in boys Under 19, won their respective divisions.

Many of the youngsters will be participating in international competition for the first time, although there are also plenty of junior CASA veterans on show as well.

These include Robbie Maycock, who won the Under 15 boys division in 2004 and Rachel Barnes, who won the girls Under 13 title the same year.

Maycock, who is highly regarded in squash circles, is expected to be very competitive in boys Under 17 this year.
