Arantxa King leapt into the World Junior Championship long jump final yesterday, recording a 6.14m distance to book her place in the final in Beijing, China.
King, the world youth champion, needed her third leap to guarantee a spot in tomorrow's final, finishing joint 11th to seal a place in the 12 girl final with the shortest distance.
Six girls qualified for the medal round with jumps longer than King's personal best ? set while winning gold in Morocco ? leaving the teenage Commonwealth Games athlete with a tough task in the final.
