Kyle plays key role
Kyle Lightbourne helped Macclesfield Town grab a precious victory against Bristol Rovers yesterday.
The Bermudian won a penalty for his side nine minutes into the Division Three clash, which was televised live in England.
Anwar Uddin was adjudged to have brought down Lightbourne and Matthew Tipton slotted home the resulting spot-kick.
The Silkmen doubled their lead after 17 minutes when Chris Byrne fired home from close range.
Wayne Carlisle grabbed a goal back for Rovers but Lightbourne's team hung on for the win which lifted them away from the foot of the table. Macclesfield are now 19th of the 24 teams with seven points from seven games.
Shaun Goater and Manchester City did not have a game at the weekend due to international matches. City play Arsenal in the Premiership tomorrow.
