Kyle Lightbourne did his best to spark a Macclesfield fightback last night by coming off the bench to score.

The Bermudian striker came on at the break with the Silkmen 3-0 down to Leyton Orient in the English Third Division.

Three minutes after the restart Lightbourne's strike partner Lee Glover pulled a goal back.

Lightbourne started the move, beating his man and then laying the ball off.

The player then saw appeals for a penalty fall on deaf ears.

A free-kick was played to him in the area, but before he could reach it he appeared to be dragged down by a defender.

However, the referee ignored the Bermudian's claims and waved play on.

Lightbourne carried on battling and on 78 minutes rose to meet a cross with firm header that gave the Orient ‘keeper no chance.

Unfortunately, neither he nor his colleagues could find the goal needed to salvage a draw.
