Local TV to air cup qualifiers
Football and tennis fans will be treated to coverage of both World Cup qualifiers and the US Open when Bermuda Broadcasting Company airs matches from both events next month.
On Sunday, September 2, the venue will be Port of Spain for the soccer qualifier between Trinidad and Costa Rica. The match is being played the evening before but will be aired between 9.30 a.m and 11.30 a.m. on Channel Seven.
On Monday, September 3, there will be tape delayed coverage of Jamaica against Mexico from the Caribbean. That programme runs on Channel Nine between 7.30 p.m. and 9 p.m.
On Wednesday the station has live coverage of Jamaica versus Honduras from Mexico. That will be on Channel Seven and will run between 10.30 p.m. and 12.30 a.m.
On Thursday, September 6, there will be a 30-minute highlight show from the same game aired between 8.30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Channel Nine.
October 7 will see Jamaica play the USA at a venue to be announced from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Channel Nine.
Then on Saturday and Sunday, November 10 and 11 the station will feature Jamaica against Costa Rica and Trinidad versus as of now unnamed opponents. Full details for these matches are still being drawn up.
Tennis fans will get to see the third and fourth rounds of the US Open between 12 noon and 7 p.m. on September 1, 2 and 3.
On Friday, September 7, the men's doubles final and women's semi-finals will be broadcast between 12 noon and 7 p.m.
September 8 sees the men's semi-finals and women's final, the former between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and the latter between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m.
On Sunday, September 9, the men's final will be aired between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Late night highlights follow the David Letterman show between 1.37 a.m. and 2 .07 a.m. and all matches will be on Channel Nine.
