German super-maxi Morning Glory smashed the record in the Newport-Bermuda Race today, crossing the line off the St. David's Lighthouse in 48 hours and 28 minutes.

Morning Glory, owned by Hasso Plattner, finished the Race at 2.14 p.m. At 6.30 p.m., no other finishers had been posted on the Newport-Bermuda Race website.
