New look planned for Sea Breeze

Sea Breeze Oval, home of Bailey's Bay Bay Cricket Club, could be sporting a new look next season if an application for improvements are given the go-ahead by Government planners.

Club president Allan Walker said he and his executives were keeping their fingers crossed that the club would be given the green light.

He said the planned renovations and additions would make the club more "user friendly and accommodating" to its members and the sporting public at large.

Planned are extensive additions to the eastern end of the current building as well as an improved scoreboard on the eastern boundary of the field.

Work on the eastern end of the main clubhouse, currently open and used as a veranda and viewing area at games, would result in an enclosed area with private viewing boxes, similar to those traditionally used at international sporting venues.

The president said the end result would be "a very attractive sporting complex".

"By making these additions we hope to make it into a good looking sporting complex, giving that particular area a private viewing spot with attractive boxes and also with additional toilet facilities nearby," he said.
