Newsflash: Commonwealth Games squash stars bow out

Bermuda's Games swimmers Roy Allan Burch, Ronald Cowen, Graham Smith and Michael O'Connor.

Bermuda's men's doubles squash team were forced to pull out of the Commonwealth Games tournament at the 11th hour today.

Nick Kyme and Tommy Sherratt were due to play against teams from England Wales and Lesotho, however a freak training inury to Sherratt meant the team had to withdraw.

Sherratt stood on an opponent's foot while training and when he pushed off, sustained an injury to his ankle.

In swimming, Graham Smith missed out on a place in the second round of the men's 100 metres breastroke by one spot.

Smith came 17th overall in qualifying heats in a time of 1 minute and 8.32 seconds. Canadian Morgan Knabe was first overall in the heats with a time of 1:01.79.
