Next up ? 5K races

Plans are underway for this year?s Butterfield and Vallis 5K road race, which will be held on Sunday, February 1, followed two weeks later by the IAS Park 5K.

The B&V event, which regularly attracts over 200 runners, begins at 9 a.m. on Woodlands Road with the 12 and under boys and girls running a 2.7 kilometre route followed at 9.30 by the main race over five kilometres.

Several draw prizes including an American Airlines ticket to the US and two mountain bikes will be up for grabs. Deadline for entries is Friday, January 30 at 4.45 p.m.

Meanwhile, entry forms are also out for the annual IAS Park 5K road race which takes place on Sunday, February 15.

Organised by IAS Park in conjunction with the West End Athletic Club, the race will also be offering two airline tickets as draw prizes.

The event begins at 9 a.m. from Boaz Island in Dockyard and is part of the KPMG junior road running series.

Proceeds from this year?s race will go to the Bermuda Heart Foundation.

Entry forms for both races are available at Sportseller and Sports?R?Us while for the first event forms can be picked up at Butterfield and Vallis on Orange Valley, Devonshire.
