Somers Kempe's Contest III took honours in the May 24 Heritage Trophy race on a day of high winds and high drama in St. George's Harbour.

Other races were abandoned as winds soared above 25 knots but skipper Kempe made the most of the one contest, beating out Challenger to claim the triumph for a third straight year in a 15-20 knot breeze.
