No-shows mar cup soccer
The resumption of the Women's Konica Cup soccer competition on Sunday was disrupted by defaults.
Prospect showed up with only five players for their match against Robin Hood while Wolves, who had the minimum requirement of seven players to face Hemipshere Royals in the second scheduled match at Shelly Bay, elected not to play.
Both matches are likely to be awarded 3-0 to the winning teams, and Rude Girls kept pace from a goal difference standpoint by defeating PHC Zebras 4-1.
Shuntae Todd gave PHC a shock lead in the ninth minute but were rocked by four goals in the first half as Rude Girls confirmed their superiority. Tamisha Darrell netted twice in the 14th and 32nd minute with Shivon Washington scoring on the half-hour and Chevonne Furbert on target a minute before the break.
The next round of preliminary matches will be held on December 16.
