Parish three enjoying Commercial break

The ?Fabulous Three? are back . . . at least as long as Hamilton Parish remain in the FA Cup competition.

Parish?s ranks were bolstered for Tuesday night?s FA Cup second round replay with Commercial team Key West Rangers by former Premier Division players Corey Hill, Irving Burgess and Sean Dill ? all currently registered with Peppers? Commercial team in the B Division.

Dill combined with Burgess in the 79th minute to give Parish a hard-fought win and the right to advance to the quarter-finals of the competition.

?We want to take Parish as far as we can in the competition and so now we?re gunning for one of the big boys,? warned Dill, whose match-winning strike proved to be the ideal present ? the former North Village poacher, who has been inactive in the sport for the past two seasons, celebrated his 35th birthday yesterday.

?The flame has been rekindled,? Dill added. ?I decided to take a break because of work and family commitments. But I wanted to play in this competition and in the warm up for this match I scored a hat-trick for Parish playing against Dandy Town Roots in the Commercial B Division.

?We lost 6-5 but I scored a hat-trick and Irving (Burgess) and Corey (Hill) scored the other goals.?

Parish actually fielded seven Commercial team players against Rangers in Tuesday night?s cup tie.

Under existing FA Cup regulations, clubs are permitted to use Commercial team players in the competition. Current FA Cup holders Dandy Town called upon the services of Commercial striker Darren (Duke) Simons in the first round.

Both Hill and Burgess previously enjoyed successful playing stints at Dandy Town before the talented pair moved on to Vasco da Gama while Dill carved a name out for himself at childhood club Village.

Dill added: ?I think our Commercial team is stronger than our First Division side. I think we have a bit more experience and knowledge than them.?

Parish?s First Division side are currently anchored at the bottom of the table.

As to his match-winning exploits with the boot, Dill explained: ?The ball was kicked up the field to Corey (Hill) who faked left and went right and slipped the ball to Irving. Irving went down the line and so I had back post in my head because I knew he would pick me out.

?Once the ball reached me at the back post I made absolutely no mistake. I was looking to score but I didn?t think I would score the winner.?
