Pot turn the screw at top
With MR Onions busy in the Cup, Lobster Pot tightened their lead at the top of the Commercial league table with an 4-1 victory over PHC.
Defender Ken Mahadeo put Dave Allison through to neatly slot home in the opening minutes but Pot defender Jameel Effendy then fouled Colin Thompson in the box.
Stephen Trott dispatched the penalty but Pot soon extended their lead with a 20-yarder from Allison.
Some excellent individual play by Michael Johnston and a suburb finish off the upright put Pot 3-1 ahead at the break. Pot got their fourth in the 60th minute when Colin James volleyed into the roof off the net.
North Village go second after a 1-0 win over Tuff Dogs with Alan Smith getting on the end of a knock-on following a long punt from the goalkeeper. Onions are now third, four points behind Pot but with three games in hand.

Relegation-bound Somerset Bridge and Devonshire Rec. Lions shared the points with Lloyd Telford on target for Bridge in the 54th minute while Dwayne Bean evened things up eight minutes later.
Dandy Town Roots are coming the other way and cruised to a 9-0 victory over Wolves at Shelly Bay field on Saturday in Division B.
Wolves almost drew first blood as an indirect free kick from the right made its way into the Roots six-yard box and was somehow knocked over the top by an onrushing Wolves attacker with the Roots defence flat-footed. The rest of the half belonged to Roots as two goals each from Sean Smith and Mark Trott and singles from Paul Cann and Darron Simons gave them a 6-0 half-time lead.
The second half was much the same with Roots increasing their lead through another Simons goal and two from Shennon Gilbert including a left-footed screamer which flew into the far corner. Wolves almost got themselves on the score sheet as a shot from distance looked destined for the back of the net until Roots ?keeper Walter Musson tipped the ball over.
St. George?s are also set for promotion, enjoying a 6-0 win over Prospect/Fire.
Lionel Cann notched a hat-trick within 15 minutes, Stevie Dickerson scored a scorching free kick and then Cann scored his fourth of the match and 40th of the season when he cut back on the left edge of the box and slammed the ball into the opposite corner from 19 yards. The only goal of the second half came from Terrence Coddington after a nifty one-two with Dickerson.
Vasco stay third with a 2-1 over Somerset Extros who went behind to a Matthew Taylor own goal and Mark Demoura strike in the first half. A beautifully crafted volley from Mike Corday gave Extros hope in the second half but Vasco held on.
Devonshire All-Stars beat mid-table rivals Boulevard 4-2 with two from Zane Stowe and goals from Mark Ray and Jeffrey Richardson while Cleve Rogers and William Richardson scored for the visitors. The other two B Division games were postponed.
