Rams? late goal blitz puts brakes on BAA
Second-placed BAA blew a golden opportunity to go top of the Commercial A Division as they went down 3-1 away to North Village Rams at the weekend.
Rams tore into BAA in a torrid final half hour at Bernard Park with Maceo Dill, Tillman Darrell and Ross Lambe all finding the target.
BAA netted a last-gasp consolation goal through manager Tommy Gribbon who will be frustrated at his side?s failure to take all three points and leapfrog above leaders MR Onions who sat out the weekend.
Key West Rangers remain third after opponents Dandy Town Roots let a two-goal lead slip and ended up with just a point in a 2-2 draw.
Roots went at Key West right from the opening whistle and took the lead when Roddy Piper miskicked an easy clearance and gave Walter Musson the simple task of slotting the ball past the helpless Andre Hendrickson in goal.
A stuttering Key West found themselves two down after Roots? one-touch play ended with Adam Outerbridge driving a low shot inside Hendrickson?s near post.
Key West were handed a lifeline when Earl Richardson fired home a penalty after Scott Morton handled in the area. And they came alive in the second half with substitute Janeiro Tucker grabbing a point for his team after his inswinging corner evaded the Roots ?keeper.
Lobster Pot could only muster a 1-1 draw against lowly St. George?s All-Stars. Pot?s Joe Carolo found the net from six yards with a well-finished right-footed effort late in the first half but a 65th minute Lionel Cann penalty earned the East Enders a point.
Tuff Dogs drew 2-2 with PHC in a fiery encounter at Southampton Oval which saw Dogs? Chris Pett dismissed for dissent before the game was ended early as it spiralled out of control with dangerous tackles flying in from all angles.
PHC led the game twice through Al Thomas strikes ? including a 30-yard thunderbolt early in the second half ? but goals from Jason Floyd and Nelson Martin saved the day for Dogs who also stopped a Kyle Lightbourne penalty.
A lob from Brian Fubler was enough for Robin Hood to grab all three points from Valley at Shelly Bay Field.
Island XI remain top of the B Division only on goal difference after a goalless encounter with Prospect/Fire brought an end to their one hundred percent record.
Hamilton Parish are snapping on their heals after a 3-2 win over Devonshire All-Stars.
Vasco Mariners moved up to fourth after a 1-0 win over Somerset Bridge Peskies. A fairly even game was decided by a penalty in the first half ? converted by Mark DeMoura following a push on Paul Frias. Bridge had a penalty in the second half but struck the bar.

There were also goals galore at Malabar with Prison Officers finally overcoming eight-man Wolves 6-5.
Prison Officers were 3-0 up at the half, thanks to two long-range shots from Caldron Grimes and an Erskine Swan effort. Wolves got a second half hat-trick from Bobby Smith with Mark Tankard and Sean Outerbridge tallying from distance. However Dwight Richards also managed a second half hat-trick and sealed the win for Prison Officers.
